  • Help with inverter "simotion" Fiat 600 Elettra and CODE unit

    Hi!
I am new here on the forum. I am working on an electriv boat project where I want to use a siemens simotion inverter (and siemens three phase motor). On the inverter I have uploaded software from Fiat (most probabely Fiat 600 Elettra), but I cannot get the motor working. I have been reading through the Fiat 600 Elettra wire diagram and I think I have done the wiring correct. But it seems that the Fiat has a spesial code-unit that communicats with the inverter. I do not have this code-unit. I believe that this can be the reason that the motor is not working...(??)
Do any of you have information about how this code-unit works, and if it is possible to use the inverter (with Fiat software) without this code-unit??
    Regards Bendik, Norway

Hi Bendik, welcome on this forum...I'm sorry for my bad English...On the fiat600 Electra, is equipped with a safety system named Code. The key for starting the car have inside a transponder; when put the key on dash and turn on the system (the power supply is on) the code of trasponder is read and if the code of trasponder is ok, it's possible to crank up the motor. For reading the trasponder in the car have a aerial connected with a little box yellow under dash board. This box is connected with inverter with one cable. We don't have any information for help us for a retrofitting inverter...but I have a question for you; What hardware Andre software you used for programming inverter?ThanksFox

      Thanks for your answer Tonini!
It sounds like it is difficult to solve this CODE->inverter problem:-/

I am not sure if I understood your question. But I will try to explain how the Fiat-software was uploaded to the inverter:
The simotion inverter was taken from a norwegian produced Th!nk car. The "Th!nk-software" used in the inverters is protected with a code so that is it not possible to connect a computer (with SIADIS) for communication. But I need to communicate with the inverter to make changes to parameters and for reading performance data when testing the motor. Therefore I was recommended to upload Fiat-software to the inverter (which is not code-protected for communication). (Probably this is the Fiat 600 Elettra software, but this is not verified - it is my theory!). The upload was not done by me, but by another person here in Norway. He has the Fiat-software on a computer, and he has also the Siemens adapter necessary for connecting the PC to the inverter (I dont have this adapter at the moment, but hopefully soon). This person also claims that there are 3-4 Th!nk cars in Germany using Fiat-software in the inverter, but no one can explain me how this works:-/

Could this be a solution to my problem:
If I take the code unit (with the keys) from a Fiat 600 (gasoline versjon). Could this code-unit communicate with the simotion inverter??

Benny I'm sorry but every code and twinned with your own transponder you should unsolder the eprom on the inverter read the code and program the box to read the transponder if you need to write and I'll show you the integrated or better eprom good evening

            Thanks for your reply:-)
Meanwhile I have found a work-around, so I am not using the Fiat-Simotion any more. But thanks:-)
