3.1. Anti spark circuit
3.1.1. Take care with connecting batteries
This is a high power charger where we need special attention with connecting batteries. The battery charger must first be connected to the battery and only thereafter plugged into the mains outlet. Also disconnect the charger from the mains and wait five seconds before disconnecting the battery. Another sequence can create huge sparks which is fatal for the battery connectors; the charger wants to keep the charge current constant. Because of the large power of the charger the same effect occurs as with a welding transformer:
